Born in Bridgeport Connecticut in 1954. After serving in the navy, Robert attended community college in bridgeport, majoring in art. He moved to California in 1978 and attended CSUS. Robert began making ceramic sculpture in 1985. Within a couple of years he was displaying his work at the John Natsoulas Gallery in Davis California, alongside many revered ceramic sculptors including Robert Arneson, and Peter Vandenberg. His work has been exhibited worldwide, and has appeared in many art publications. Robert has been working in his studio on Del Paso Blvd. since 1995. He has made a commitment to help in the revitalization of North Sacramento by becoming one of the founding members of the new North Sacramento Community Development Corporation. Robert is Teaching ceramics to severely disabled adults through a California Arts Council grant. He is the president of Surrealestates Ink, and has been a member since 1994 trying to develop artist live/ work in North Sacramento.
